Food Safety Registration of Wine Producer Cancelled Over Unrecorded Alcohol Purchases

As is known, pursuant to Article 24.1-2.2 of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Food Safety", the purchase of alcohol used as a raw material in vodka production must be properly documented in accordance with the requirements of the legislation. Violation of this requirement constitutes grounds for the cancellation of the registration or approval of a food business operator.

Within the framework of control measures, an inspection was conducted by the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy at “Absheron Sharab 1” LLC, located in the Qobu settlement of the Absheron district. During the inspection, it was determined that there were no supporting purchase documents for the potable alcohol used in the production process.

Based on the information received regarding the identified violation, the Food Safety Agency revoked the food safety registration of “Absheron Sharab 1” LLC. The business entity concerned and the relevant state authorities have been duly informed of the decision.
