Will the minimum wage be 400 manats from January 1, 2025?
The minimum wage in Azerbaijan will increase next year. The opinion of the Chamber of Accounts on the draft law “On the State Budget of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2025” states that the minimum wage will be 400 manats.
Note that this is 55 manats more than in 2024. Thus, in 2024, the minimum wage was 345 manats. Note that, according to the third part of Article 155 of the Labor Code, the monthly wage of an employee who has worked the monthly working hours and performed his labor function cannot be lower than the minimum wage established by the state.
In addition, individual entrepreneurs must calculate a monthly mandatory state social insurance contribution in the amount of a percentage of the minimum wage determined by regions in accordance with the requirements of the “On Social Insurance” in accordance with the types of activity. Also, individual entrepreneurs pay mandatory medical insurance in the amount of 4 percent of the minimum wage in accordance with the Law “On Medical Insurance”.
