As of the end of June this year, the number of payment cards in circulation increased by 181,000 compared to the previous month, reaching a total of 20.642 million.
According to the Central Bank's report, this figure has increased by 14.1% compared to the same period last year. The number of debit cards rose by 17.1%, while the number of credit cards decreased by 6.9%.
The growth in payment cards has had a positive impact on the volume of cashless payments. Specifically, the volume of domestic cashless transactions during the month increased by 38.3% compared to the same period last year.
In June 2025, the volume of domestic cashless payments made via cards amounted to 8,438.7 million manats. Of this amount, 7,375 million manats were carried out through e-commerce. The remaining amount included 1,058 million manats through POS terminals and 5 million manats via self-service terminals and ATMs.
Since the beginning of the year, cashless domestic transactions using payment cards have accounted for 67.1% of all domestic card operations.
