As of July 1, 2025, the number of employees in the country’s economy amounted to 1,770,800 people. Of these, 864,200 were employed in the public sector of the economy, while 906,600 worked in the non-public sector.
According to the State Statistics Committee, 18.8% of employees were engaged in trade and repair of motor vehicles, 18.3% in education, 13.8% in industry, 8.5% in healthcare and social services for the population, 6.7% in construction, 6.3% in public administration and defense, as well as social security, 4.2% in transportation and storage, 3.9% in professional, scientific, and technical activities, 2.4% in agriculture, forestry, and fishing, 2.3% in financial and insurance activities, and 14.8% in other sectors of the economy.
In the first six months of this year, the average monthly nominal wage of employees in the country’s economy increased by 9.4% compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 1,097.3 manats. Higher-than-average monthly nominal wages were recorded in the mining industry, financial and insurance activities, information and communication, professional, scientific, and technical activities, as well as in transportation and storage.
