Paid creative leave may also be granted to authors for writing textbooks or teaching materials. To complete a dissertation for obtaining a PhD degree, paid creative leave of up to two calendar months is granted, while for obtaining a Doctor of Sciences degree, paid creative leave of up to three calendar months is provided. Such creative leave is used on the basis of a certificate issued in accordance with the decision of the relevant academic council.
Employees who pursue doctoral studies while working are granted 30 calendar days of paid leave in each academic year.
Employees engaged in writing textbooks or teaching materials may be granted paid creative leave of up to three months based on the decision and certificate of the relevant executive authority.
The relevant academic council or executive authority must determine the duration of creative leave and the procedure for its use in advance, in consultation with the employer.
The salary paid during the period of creative leave is calculated based on the monthly salary established for the employee’s position.
