Tax declarations will be able to be submitted via a mobile application

It will now be possible to submit tax declarations in Azerbaijan via a mobile application. This was announced by Samir Gahramanov, an expert under the Ministry of Economy.
This innovation aims to improve convenience for taxpayers and ensure faster processing:
“At the initial stage, it will be possible to submit simplified tax declarations via the mobile application. This will mainly benefit micro-entrepreneurs, who will be able to submit their declarations easily through the app. In future stages, it is planned to extend this service to other types of tax declarations as well.”
He also spoke about the services of the new portal launched by the State Tax Service. According to him, declarations submitted through this portal are transitioning to a proactive service model:
“This is largely control-oriented. Now, when submitting a declaration, discrepancies are immediately displayed to the taxpayer. Previously, discrepancy notices were sent and corrections were made afterward. Now the process has become more оперативе—errors are identified and corrected at the time of submission. This will be implemented on an ongoing basis.”
Another innovation has addressed concerns of accountants. A service has been created in the portal that allows responses to discrepancy notices to be directly linked with declarations during desk tax audits.
This service can be used in two ways:
In the first case, taxpayers access discrepancy notices ((new.e-taxes.gov.az)) sent via the online tax portal, use the “Reply” function, and submit their response along with required documents.
In the second case, even if no discrepancy notice has been sent, the service can be used without the “Reply” button. The taxpayer enters the “Letters” section, selects “New application,” chooses the type “Explanations and documents to be attached to the declaration regarding a desk tax audit,” then in the “Add discrepancy” subsection inputs the payment type and period and clicks “Add.” After that, the letter and attached documents are sent to the tax authority.
In both cases, the submitted responses are automatically linked to the declaration under audit. The tax officer must review these responses before conducting the audit. It is important for the taxpayer to select the correct section and specify the relevant period and payment type related to the discrepancy.
