How many days off will employees working a six-day week have in March?

According to the Decision No. 23 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan, dated February 15, 2025, the dates of March 10 and April 1 have been swapped with the working days of March 27 and 28, 2025. Therefore, to ensure the proper sequence of work and rest days, in a five-day workweek, March 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, and 31 will be rest days, while March 10 and April 1 will be working days. So, how will the work and rest days be regulated for employees working a six-day workweek? Expert Ramin Hajiyev clarifies this issue.
The number of rest days in a six-day workweek has been determined by the decision of the Collegium of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, dated December 16, 2024. According to this decision, the dates for work and rest days for 2025 have been established based on the production calendar. The dates of non-working days related to holidays in 2025 are announced in Annex No. 1 of the decision.
According to the Collegium's decision, in accordance with part 5 of Article 105 of the Labor Code and the decisions of the Cabinet of Ministers, No. 499 dated November 28, 2024, “On the relocation of work and rest days” and No. 521 dated December 11, 2024, “On the determination of the dates for Novruz, Ramadan, and Kurban holidays for 2025,” the overlap of interweekend rest days with holiday days that are not considered working days, as well as the change in the sequence of work and rest days, means that in a five-day workweek, the rest days will be January 3, March 10, 25, 26, April 1, June 9, 16, November 10, and 11. In a six-day workweek, the rest days will be March 25, April 1, June 16, and November 10.
Thus, in a six-day workweek, the rest days for March, due to the Novruz and Ramadan holidays, will be as follows:
Novruz holiday: March 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 (6 days);
Ramadan holiday: March 30, 31, and April 1 (3 days).
