Misuse of business cards: where is it more effective?

"Entrepreneurs no longer need to use business cards regularly. I believe that the environment created for entrepreneurs today reduces the use of these cards," said Mehdi Babayev.
According to him, businesspeople tend to use the business cards linked to the bank accounts of the companies or enterprises they manage for purposes other than business, i.e., for non-business-related activities. This can ultimately lead to negative outcomes: "Almost all individual entrepreneurs or company leaders have obtained corporate cards for business. However, in reality, we see that these corporate business cards are more often used for personal purposes rather than for business."
M. Babayev regrettably noted that in practice, business cards are often used to avoid formalities: "For instance, in some cases, entrepreneurs use cards to pay for expenses for themselves, their families, and relatives, to cover personal expenses or debts of the founders, or sometimes to carry out informal purchases, cash withdrawals, or informal transactions through card-to-card transfers to others. Generally, entrepreneurs use such cards to simplify payments in business."
Emphasizing that the purposes of using business cards can vary, M. Babayev pointed out that in certain important cases, they are necessary. For example, when a worker goes on a business trip, the business trip expenses may need to be paid on-site, customs duties need to be paid at the customs office, purchases from individuals not registered with tax authorities must be paid on-site, or payments are made for corporate holidays, celebrations, gifts for employees or anniversaries, and other easy payment purposes. Corporate cards are used for such payments: "In fact, the purpose of the card can be convenient when there is a need for an instant payment. For example, if an entrepreneur needs to pay for a product, work, or service for business purposes on-site, in order not to miss the opportunity, the importance of the card is undeniable. Because if the payment is not made on-site, the purchase may not happen, and the benefit will be lost."
M. Babayev believes that today there is very little need for entrepreneurs to use business cards, and in fact, in most areas of activity, there is no need to use such cards anymore. If the entrepreneur’s real goal is to acquire goods through proper documentation and to formalize business operations correctly, they can pay via online banking through a non-cash transfer. This would make it very easy to solve the issue with their customer, and in this case, the card is unnecessary.
