No need to scan VAT receipts anymore — a new feature from Birbank

The era of scanning receipts to receive VAT refunds is coming to an end. For payments made through POS terminals belonging to Kapital Bank/Birbank and Paşa Bank, there is no longer a need to scan QR codes or receipts to claim VAT refunds. The receipt is automatically added, and the VAT amount is credited to the balance within the next 30 days.
The country’s first digital bank, Birbank, continues to provide innovative financial solutions to its customers. As a result of social cooperation with the State Tax Service, receiving VAT refunds has now become even easier for Birbank users.
Accordingly, for payments made through POS terminals of Kapital Bank/Birbank and Paşa Bank, scanning QR codes or receipts to claim VAT refunds is no longer required. When a payment is made using a Birbank card at the specified POS terminals, the receipt is automatically added to the “Recently Added Receipts” section in the Birbank mobile application, and the VAT amount is credited to the balance within the next 30 days. To activate this feature, users simply need to enable the “Automatically add receipts” option in the “Get VAT back” section of the Birbank mobile app.
Initially, this feature is available only for Birbank cards and is valid in many public service establishments across the country, including shops, restaurants, and pharmacies. In the near future, it is planned to expand the project to cover all shopping and service points.
