Breaking: The Central Bank has announced its interest rate decision
The Board of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) has decided to keep the policy rate unchanged at 6.5%.
According to a business and financial news portal citing the CBA, the lower bound of the interest rate corridor has been maintained at 5.5%, while the upper bound remains at 7.5%.
“When making the decision on the interest rate corridor, factors such as actual and projected inflation remaining within the target range, risks arising from global geopolitical tensions, global financial conditions, the domestic macroeconomic environment, and the transmission of monetary policy decisions to the real sector were taken into account,” the CBA stated.
The next decision regarding the parameters of the interest rate corridor will be announced to the public on June 24. The decision will be based on changes in the inflation forecast as well as the results of macroeconomic analysis. If there is a risk of inflation deviating from the target, appropriate policy measures will be implemented.
